Q: Do you bet all of the plays you post?
A: I am not promoting or encouraging gambling for anyone else, but yes, I personally bet every single play that is posted. A lot of time, money, and effort goes into our research, modeling, and simulations. When we find valuable edges, we place our bets first, then share that same information with our subscribers.
Q: If you are so good, why sell your picks? Why not just keep all the edges for yourself?
A: Great question. The simplest way to think about it is like this:
Let’s say you have access to multiple sportsbooks and sportsbook A has it at -105 odds, and Sportsbook B has it at -115 odds. You would obviously place your bet at Sportsbook A because it gives you a better price. Even though you’re confident in your pick, you still minimize the juice because even the best bets lose sometimes.
That’s how we view selling our picks. We already put in the work, research, and analytics. If by sharing our plays with subscribers we can essentially turn our average bet odds from -110 to -102 or even money, why wouldn’t we? It’s a way to reduce the “juice” on our own operation while also sharing our insights with our others, which is fun.
Q: Aren’t you worried that posting your picks will move the odds?
A: Not at all. For full transparency, we always place our bets before the plays are posted for subscribers. Beyond that, we have never seen any real evidence that individual handicappers or bettors meaningfully move the lines in today’s market.
Maybe years ago, when smaller, independent sportsbooks were setting lines on their own, a single bettor could influence odds. But in today’s world, with massive books like DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM, that just does not happen.
Q: Do you ever post 5 Unit or 10 Unit Max Plays?
A: No. The last time I posted a play that wasn’t 1 Unit was months ago, and it was 2 Units. We do not believe in hype. We do not believe in “50 UNIT MAX BET GAME OF THE YEAR” theatrics. And we definitely do not believe in misleading unit math just to brag about inflated win totals.
To adjust a saying from The Incredibles:
“If every bet is 50 units, then none of them are 50 units.”
We post smart, disciplined 1 Unit plays.
